Gabrielino Tongva Springs Foundation
Background Mrs.
Behrns was born and raised in West Los Angeles. She is a Gabrielino
Tongva Indian and is Federally registered with the Bureau of Indian
Affairs. She has documented her paternal geniology from the early
1800's in Los Angeles. Historical landmarks associated with her family
include:
- Henninger Flats (formerly Clara's Basin)
named after her Grandmother
- Los Encinos State Park (formerly Ranchos Los
Encinos)
Mrs. Behrns has also appeared in numerous
documentary videos and television interview shows. Her poetry has been
the cornerstone for a documentary video on the Santa Monica Mountains.
